Material Production Pipeline / Surface Capture & Processing

A series of material studies focused on recreating real-world fabrics and surface detail for production-ready CGI workflows. The fabric materials were developed through controlled capture and reconstruction methods, combining multi-angle lighting, photometric stereo principles, and RTI-inspired processing to extract usable surface information from physical swatches. The goal was to create materials that preserved real fabric texture, depth, and response while remaining flexible enough for colour variations and larger product pipelines. Alongside the scanned fabric work, this project explores how material realism can be pushed through careful texture processing, shader setup, displacement, and lighting. Each material was built with practical production use in mind — balancing realism, render performance, consistency, and reusability across visualisation projects. These studies also informed broader material workflows used in high-volume product rendering, where visual accuracy and repeatability are just as important as the final image quality.
